Many children may benefit from additional exposure to the Montessori learning environment, and so to accommodate this option the school is open for children from 8:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Our primary instructional program runs from 9:00am to 12:00pm. There are three options available to parents and children:

  • Half-Day Program (8:00am to 12:00pm)

  • Afterschool Care Program (4:00pm to 5:30pm)

Orientation Adjustment Month: August Entry Procedure

All new students are asked to attend during our Orientation Month of August. The purpose of this approach is to assist the child in settling in to the school’s routine at a time when the school is quieter and more relaxed. During the Orientation Adjustment Month the teachers are able to provide more individualized attention to the new student to best support this transition for new students. As a result, by the start of the new school year, the child has already become acclimatized to the school environment and can begin the academic school year more easily.

All teachers employed by Bermuda Montessori School have or are currently undergoing certification and training in the Montessori Method, as well as Bachelor’s Degrees from an accredited association or school. All teachers employed at BMS undergo CPR and First Aid training, SCARS training, and attend crucial professional development workshops throughout the year. Each class is supervised by the Head Teacher and Deputy Head, both of whom are Montessori teachers who possess a solid understanding of the method and philosophy.
